Omg the Birria is mind blowing good. It was a drive for us to get here but it was so worth it. My husband gave it his seal of approval aka said that there is only one place in Mexico City where it was just a tad bit better (I don't believe him).
The amazing birria is served with fresh tortillas made on the spot. Honestly I could just gorge on those alone. We will be back for sure!! -

Insanely good! The goat was delicious (falling off the bone and still managed to have some texture). The warm salsa was new to me but had a nice kick to it. The Jamaica was solid (well balanced tart without overpowering sweetness).
Extra points: The staff were warm, welcoming and even walked me through my first order.
I will definitely return! -

Really delicious goat in a tomatoey consommé. We came here on a Sunday afternoon to catch some early dinner and it was packed. There's a waiting room next door serving coffee, molcajete salsa and chips for you to wait in. Our wait was about 35 minutes for 4 individuals.
They have a front dining area and 2 separate dining areas in the back of the restaurant. The waiter noticed we all had big appetites and recommended 2 lbs of Birrieria, 1 dozen homemade tortillas, molcajete, onion and cilantro, and we also got 2 goat quesadillas and a tripe taco to try.
1 Star was taken off for the tripe taco, it was a strong gamey and funky barnyard flavor. I think it could have been cleaned better. The rest of the meal was absolutely amazing with melt in your mouth tender lamb meat and skin and fat. Picky eaters wouldn't like this place, don't ask what parts you're consuming. -

I finally tried Birrieria Zaragoza. I must admit it's been a challenge here since my wife doesn't like goat, so I kind of had to force her. She doesn't like goat for the same reason she doesn't like lamb, it taste to "gamey for her.
The dining area is very tiny and can get packed very quickly during peak hours. When we arrived they didn't have a table and had us wait in their waiting area next door. About ten minutes passed and they came and called us over. Once we were seated it was game over.
Our waiter was very nice and explained everything perfectly as it was our first time. He seemed very happy to be there and very to joyful to explain the different birria options. He did it all with a smile and made us feel at home.
My wife ordered their birria quesadilla. A handmade corn tortilla with birria and queso in between. You couldn't taste the birria as much which was perfect for my wife. My daughter likes soupy entrees so we ordered a small bowl of consommé and she loved it and finished it all. We also ordered their horchata and it was delicious.
I ordered their Plato Chico with bone in. I actually regret ordering this and next time I will order it without our bone and definitely their Plato Grande. The birria itself was so delicious and very tender. This is no lie hands down the best birria I have ever had. The consommé that was added on top just made it taste so much better. The entree also came Erich fresh cut cilantro and cebolla and lime wedges, salsa, four fresh handmade tortillas and they also brought some salsa de molcajete. Put all of that in one of their handmade and you have one of the best tasting tacos.
Definitely one of the best meals I've had in a long time and truly some of the best customer service I've received at a Mexican restaurant in a long time. The crew there all works together to ensure your truly getting a great experience and as we were leaving everybody in that joint waved good bye and thanked us for coming in. Yeah ok Birrieria Zaragoza. Good bye! But not for long. I'll definitely be back! -

This place has been on my list for years and today was the day I finally tried it. It was definitely worth the wait and I'm mad at myself I had not tried it sooner!
The goat barbacoa is simply out of this world. I have not seen it on the menu at any other Mexican locations that I've been to throughout the city. I knew it was going to be good when you look at the menu and realize that's all they serve.
You basically choose a large plate (10 oz.), a small plate (5 oz.), or individual goat tacos or quesadillas. I recommend the plate so that you can get extra broth on the meat. The tortillas are made by hand right there behind the register and you can really taste the difference. It also soaks up the broth so well!
I also love that it's a family-owned joint. You feel the warm and friendliness the moment you walk in. I will definitely be returning ASAP! I'll eat these tacos over my normal al pastor or carne asada any day!
